Job Title: Production Manager - Hydraulics Salary: c.£30000 pa Location: Commutable from Dudley, Stourbridge, West Bromwich, Wolverhampton, Halesowen The Role: This hands-on position is responsible for managing the planning, scheduling and assembly of test machines to the agreed delivery dates, and resolving technical issues and constraints. You`ll have 5+ years mechatronics engineer in production / assembly (incl. 2+ years management). This is an excellent opportunity to join a UKAS accredited engineering company which delivers engineering solutions to the aerospace, pharmaceutical, university and automotive markets. Responsibilities: The role requires good people management and mechanical skills in order to co-ordinate shop-floor activities, with 2 Production Engineers and a Driver / Goods-in assistant reporting into the position. The position reports into the Operations Manager and you will both be supporting the exciting 3 year business plan that will double the size of the company, currently employing circa 30 staff and generating ~£2m sales. You must show that you are self-motivated and driven, but above all else, be able to work with a small team where good service and commitment differentiates this emerging brand in its various market sectors. You will have a high level of practical experience within a mechanical assembly environment, and be able to work with the other managers contributing to shop-floor output (i.e. software development, electronics design & production and mechanical design), as well as providing technical support to suppliers and customers. Candidate requirements: You will currently be working in a technical engineering environment and now wish to move into a management role and seeking a new challenge. You will have a good understanding of: - outsourced manufacturing build processes, meeting planned timescales and be able to commission and test systems; - mechanical and hydraulic components and assembly, especially hydraulic circuits, seals and general hydraulic/air product ranges; - plus commissioning and testing hydraulic systems; - workshop based equipment and use of tools to install fixtures and fittings; - Quality systems and continuous improvement; - Health & Safety standards; - CAD and Microsoft software (Word - Excel etc.) for all normal functions. - You should have: - Apprenticeship as Mechanical fitter (plus ONC + in Mechanical Engineering) - Knowledge of materials testing machines and servo hydraulics - Experience of bespoke assembly operations - Demonstrated multi-disciplinary team work and leadership - Proactive style with a natural customer focus and relationship building skills - Great verbal and written communication skills To Apply: Please contact Toby Richardson at Resource Group either by telephone: [Phone number removed] or email: [Email address removed] Resource Group are acting as an employment business/agency in relation to this vacancy.
