We have an opportunity for a Senior Support Analyst to join our Cheltenham based client on a permanent basis. You will be working within an IT department that supports over 280 staff located over 2 sites, and will be responsible for supporting both the staff in the offices and those on customer sites. This client utilises significant investment in IT to give a themselves a competitive advantage, and as such looks to the IT Department to provide a reliable service and strategy to support business development plans. Responsibilities - 1st & 2nd Line support (phone, email and in person) - Escalation point for 1st & 2nd Line Support staff. - Ownership and maintenance of helpdesk applications. - Research new projects/products and versions and how they could be utilised - Maintenance of end user equipment builds and processes. - Mentoring and training of 1st & 2nd Line Support staff. - Documentation; procedures, configurations, training. - Maintaining an orderly and tidy working environment for all areas under the control of the IT Department. - Inventory management end user equipment Tasks - Logging, diagnosis and resolution of IT support issues - Implementation or assist in implementation of Service Desk related applications and processes. - Maintenance of PC, laptop, Thin Client and smartphone builds to company standards. - Assist in employee moves and meeting room setups, where appropriate - Equipment fault finding/trouble shooting, testing, repair or dispatch for repair. - Maintenance of Inventory records - Adherence to procedures & policies with regards to licensing of software. - Regular/scheduled support site visits - Building of user equipment - Conducting new employee inductions The Person - Skills and Experience Required - Windows 7 (Configuration & Support) - Expert - Automation products, for example PC builds. - Good - Microsoft Office 2010 - 2016 - Good - Internet Explorer + other browsers - Good - Written and verbal communication skills - Good - Writing technical and procedural documentation - Good - Citrix XenDesktop v7.n upwards - Good - Apple iOS and Android device management - Good - General understanding of networking - Basic - Structured cabling - Basic - 3+ years' experience in configuring & setting up PC's/laptops/Thin Clients - 3+ years' experience in installing and general PC maintenance Desirable Experience - ITIL - Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2008/Active Directory/Networking infrastructure. - RES Workspace Manager and Automation Manager - Some knowledge of Backups, file restores e.g. Arcserve - Some knowledge of networks Whilst this is an analytical role you will also require strong administrative skills and the ability to juggle a number of tasks at the same time. You must possess a calm disposition with the ability to handle high volumes of work within a sometimes stressful environment. Alongside these capabilities the person must also have excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude, with experience of dealing with people at all levels. There will also be some out of hours' work, both evenings and weekends together with travel to the other offices. Hours - Shift: 07:30 - 16:00, 08:30 - 17:00, 09:00 - 17:30 Notice Period - 3 Months Benefits - 22 days' holiday, pension, and life insurance.
