Post-Doc Biochemist - New Technologies - Cambridge An exciting new opportunity is now available for a post-doc biochemist to join a well-established materials company in the Cambridge area and be part of their R&D team working towards the development of new technologies. In this role, you will work closely with senior synthetic and organic chemists to develop novel strategies for surface chemistries that will facilitate the immobilisation of bio recognition species on surfaces within Printed Electronic based point-of-care biosensors. Successful candidates will have experience of cell culture, manipulations of mammalian and/or bacterial cells, whereas any previous laboratory management experience will be highly appreciated. Also, an updated knowledge of the current techniques used for quantitative detection or sorting of cells, such as PCR and flow cytometry will be quite advantageous. To be considered for this role you will need to have a solid working knowledge of biosensors along with a demonstrable track record of solving complex problems in the biochemical and/or biosensor field. It is understood that excellent academic credentials and knowledge are key requirements for this role, therefore candidates will be expected to hold a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or in a related field.
